Mansion Nightmare

The mansion was laying in peaceful darkness. It was a silent night. Everyone on the property was already asleep.

Apart from her.

 

The only noise were the monotonous chirping of the night insects and the randomly quacking of one of the many small lightly orange lizards who were on their never ending hunt for food. It was the perfect time for her to work. She loved the freshness and silence of the night. It's the time, where her mind is th emost awake. Concentraded and deeply in thoughts was she trying to get the workload of the day done.

 

At first she didn't recognized the change in the atmosphere. Didn't heard the sounds of quickly running dogs paws on hard sandy dried desert soil. Didn't listen to the rising growling of the dogs.

Not ... till the barking of the five dobermans became a never ending garishly shrilly symphony of anger and pain Than she started to lift her head up from the books. Irritated. What was going on? There were no other noises apart of this awful howling and yowling. Where is Gowinda? Why isn't he checking what's the course of the whole unnecessary nightly spectacle? She became inpatient. After all it was his job to keep an eye on those wild but lovely pack of active quadrupeds.

 

The whining was continuing and meanwhile reached an incredible hysterical peak of pain and suffering. Something was wrong. She abruptly realized. At least one person would have been awake and looked after the dogs by now. All of the sudden she realized the whole impact of the situation.

 

The yelping stopped.

 

Silence.

 

What to do?

 

The kitchen was a glowing light ball in the darkness of the jungle. The wooden doors old and just provisional closed to keep any kind of crawling creature out of the house are not offering protection at all. The door ...
